From Clubs & Pubs magazine, November 1997:

Ride a horse, rope a steer, brand a maverick, sing a song, catch a jet plane That's the routine for a country western singer.

Shannon Rider is a down home girl, bred from Santa Rosa stock, on her way to Nashville. The Country & Western scene is getting a shot in the arm as we speak. Shannon is performing regularly in and around the county.

"My goal, is to just play as much music as I possibly can," Shannon reports. "When I come out with my first C.D., it will be all original songs." Embodied with the spirit of Bonnie Raitt and Patsy Cline, Shannon Rider combines a rock flare with a good old country sound. Slide guitars, fiddles, rock guitar and great vocal harmonies make for a lot of fun when The Shannon Rider Band comes to town.

This compact six piece group has a Commander Codyish feel, and with Shannon out front as lead singer, you have a combination that is hard to beat. They create high energy and rambunctious crowd response.

Paul Urquhart on drums, Tim Sarter on bass, Mark Marelli on keyboards, Dennis Sherman on guitar, and Michael Kane on fiddle, keep the audience hootin' & hollerin'. Shannon, has a great voice and rare star quality. Everyone in the band are excellent singers. All can sing lead, as well as backing Shannon with extravagant harmonies.

We just want to take this sound as far as we can go with it," says Shannon. "We have a show that just makes people happy."
